O Sounds

by
Synopsis

O Sounds is a multimedia dance work that features T.H.E's artistic director and choreographer Swee Boon Kuik, in collaboration with Singaporean sound artist Darren Ng and Brazilian video artist Gabriela Gomes. Using an eclectic amalgamation of city sounds, local dialects, folk songs, chants and images of run-down buildings together with contemporary dance, this full length work interprets the loss of tradition and the impact of never ending environmental changes. A journey that is poignant and emotional, O Sounds begs the question: how much of our tradition can we afford to lose and will we be able to reclaim it?

O sounds is a rework of Old Sounds (2008)
