Spearheaded by associate artistic director of T.H.E Second Company, Silvia Yong, the T.H.E Training Initiative is a rigorous 10-month programme designed for aspiring dancers and dance students aged 16 to 30.

Whether you've been part of a dance CCA, are eager to push beyond recreational dancing, seeking more consistent dance training, or have trained independently and want to refine your skills and artistry within a structured programme, this is your opportunity to immerse yourself in the training methods and artistic approach of T.H.E's main and second companies.

The programme's key objective is to accelerate your growth as a dancer by honing your artistic and physical potential, while instilling the stamina, discipline, and resilience required to thrive both in the studio and on stage.

Through a focused learning environment, trainees participate in weekly technique classes and kinesiological workshops covering essential areas like dance anatomy, body conditioning, and injury prevention. You’ll also be introduced to T.H.E's distinctive HollowBody methodology and learn selected excerpts of repertoires from T.H.E’s main and second companies. Additionally, the programme offers volunteer opportunities for practical experience, allowing you to gain valuable insight into behind-the-scenes and front-of-house operations during T.H.E's productions.

More than just technical training, the T.H.E Training Initiative immerses you in a supportive, close-knit dance community. You’ll delve deeper into the world of contemporary dance under the guidance of professional artists from T.H.E and build meaningful connections as you grow together with fellow trainees.
