with Kim Jae Duk (South Korea/Singapore)
22—23 June, 1:30PM—5:30PM (Advanced level)
T.H.E Dance Company's studio,
Goodman Arts Centre
Diving into the movement method of acclaimed choreographer Kim Jae Duk, who is also T.H.E's resident choreographer, we will explore the three forms and vocabularies that constitute it — Breathing Attack, comprising movement motifs of air, wind, and fallen leaves; Dying Tree, with movement elements of circularity and harmony (Taegeuk), air currents, and a sense of return that seem to depict a withering tree; and an improvisatory vocabulary created in Jae Duk's own style. The element of lightness is the common focus here, and we will find out how to control this lightness in these different vocabularies.
This 2-day workshop culminates in a studio sharing on 23 June by the workshop's participants. Tickets for the informal sharing are available on a pay-as-you-wish basis.

This workshop is suitable for participants aged 18 and above with substantial experience and/or training in contemporary dance, including dance students, fresh graduates, and emerging dance artists and choreographers.
