Wu Yi-San is currently a full-time Associate Professor at Taipei National University of the Arts’ School of Dance. She graduated from the National Taiwan University of Arts’ Department of Dance, and holds a MFA awarded by the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Wu was also a dancer with Cloud Gate Dance Theatre in Taiwan, Hong Kong’s City Contemporary Dance Company (CCDC), and a member of South “ASLI” Dance Workshop. In 2000, she received the Hong Kong Dance Awards from the Hong Kong Dance Alliance. In 2003 and 2006, she was inducted into the Hong Kong Dance Hall of Fame. In 2003, she received The Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund to study at the London Contemporary Dance School in UK, and while there, performed with Random Dance Company and Akram Khan Dance Company, and worked with Protein Dance.
Since 1999, she has been teaching in the CCDC Dance Centre, Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, E Side Dance Company, Y Space, DanceArt Hong Kong, Guangdong Dance Camp and Festival, Cloud Gate Dance Theatre, and different dance communities. She has choreographed works for Crucible in Germany, T.H.E Dance Company in Singapore, CCDC, E Side Dance Company, amongst others, and has collaborated with different artists to explore various creative mediums and perspectives.
