Happy Body

Every body, regardless of whether it dances or not, has a home base of movement — motions and gestures that feel the most natural — our gait, the way we shift from foot to foot. These constitute what I think of as a physical home, a place in which the body moves most naturally.


With components of release technique and improvisation, we will explore different possibilities of releasing our body parts, giving ourselves to gravity, and resisting it. We will look for pleasure in movement, and find connections between different parts of the body to foray into new territories of expression.


This 2-day workshop culminates in a studio sharing on 30 June by the workshop's participants as well as Ravid herself. Tickets for the informal sharing are available on a pay-as-you-wish basis.

This workshop is suitable for participants aged 18 and above who have had substantial experience and/or training in contemporary dance, including dance students, fresh graduates, and emerging artists choreographers.

NOTE — Concession tickets:
Random verification checks may be conducted for student, senior citizen, NSF and PWD cards at the venue. Patrons unable to produce a valid card for verification will be required to pay for the balance of a standard ticket.
