As an artist, he grasps the essence of Korean tradition and delivers it in a way that is easily understood by a contemporary audience. His most acclaimed work to date, Darkness Poomba has received recognition in both Japan and Korea.

Kim’s own company, Modern Table bases itself on interdisciplinary performance that attempts to transgress the borders between traditional genres of dance and music. His other works include Joker’s Blues, Awake and Clocker.
